What Droog is

Droog is a rain app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, made by Shapes & Stories LLC. Using it gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to run it on devices you own. You do not own the app itself.

Droog can be wrong

This is the important one. Droog shows an extrapolation of weather radar. Radar is an estimate, extrapolation is a guess, and the guess gets worse the further out it goes — which is why the app draws the far half of its chart more faintly and will not tell you the minute.

Do not use Droog to make decisions about safety. It is built to help you decide whether to take a coat or wait ten minutes before cycling. It is not a warning system, it is not a substitute for official weather warnings from KNMI or your national service, and it should not be relied on for sailing, aviation, working outdoors, or anything where being caught out matters more than getting wet.

Where it works

Droog reads the Dutch rain radar and is supported in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Outside that area the app tells you so rather than quietly guessing. Coverage may change; the app is the accurate answer at any moment.

Paid features

Some features are paid. Every purchase and subscription is handled by Apple — Shapes & Stories LLC never sees or processes your payment details, and cannot issue refunds, which are subject to Apple's policy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you turn them off in your App Store settings. Prices can change, and differ by country.

If you are an EU consumer you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within fourteen days, subject to the conditions in Apple's terms, through which the purchase was made.

Please don't

• Copy, extract or redistribute Droog's artwork, code or design.
• Work around purchases or subscriptions.
• Automate, scrape or overload the servers, or use the app in a way that degrades it for anyone else.
• Resell, sublicense or repackage the app or any part of it.

The weather data belongs to KNMI and is used under their licence. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and land cover is ESA WorldCover; both are used under their own terms. Everything else — the name, the mark, the artwork, the design — belongs to Shapes & Stories LLC.

Children

Droog has no accounts and asks for no personal information, so there is nothing for a child to give it. If you are under the age applicable in your country, use it with a parent or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the support chat, write to privacy@growpixel.com and it will be deleted.

No warranty

Droog is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. It will sometimes be unavailable, the radar will sometimes be down, and forecasts will sometimes be wrong. If you are an EU consumer, nothing here limits the statutory guarantees you have under your own country's law.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Shapes & Stories LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Droog, and total liability for any claim is limited to what you have actually paid for it. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including under EU consumer law.

If something is wrong

Droog is made by one person. Write to droog@growpixel.com before doing anything formal — most things are a conversation, and that is by far the fastest route.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK you keep the mandatory protections of your own country's law, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the foot of this page moves when they do, and continuing to use Droog means accepting them. For anything significant, expect to hear about it in the app. See also the privacy policy.
